Wow cool, I like the short story one\'s. I\'ve never heard of any of these ones.
Sigh (7/30/2008 @ 7:56 am)
The short stories are all lame and boring.
scary (7/31/2008 @ 9:43 pm)
that was not very good but okay
Aki-Chan (8/2/2008 @ 7:56 pm)\'s horikita maki!!
I\'ve heard of the bride before.
Tanaskarel (8/10/2008 @ 2:55 am)
I don\'t understand this movies!!
Is like the endings of all of them are cut!
But shadow by her feet is creepy. And the Bride CREEPY!
Dark Misstres (8/24/2008 @ 12:44 am)
Some are good...some are reaaally bad hahaha but it was fun and the bride has a beautiful smile hahaha
VincentV (10/5/2008 @ 4:06 pm)
Nice, some of these were kinda creepy. I especially sympathized with the poor guy in \"Hair Pins\", maybe since I\'ve been moving so many times the last 5-6 years. And I\'m about to move again! Still, a couple of them were way too short, what was the point of starting a really interesting story & not doing anything with it! Ah well, I liked the collection overall though, enjoy.
daiii (11/1/2008 @ 7:58 am)
hahaha .
\"hair pins\"---> FUNNY . LOL
Ezekiel (12/4/2008 @ 5:42 am)
Well, there probably is a good reason why a lot of these short movies seem too short or as if the ending was cut off. These movies are made from urban tales and myths from Japan, most if not all myths are short and the longer ones made into full length movies with a fully developed character perception. For example, most campfire stories last about ten to twenty minutes, they lack true ending or closure since the point of the tale was to relay just the myth itself.

i dun understand them:S they finish b4 they explain the things lol
Roberta dear (1/31/2009 @ 4:00 am)
I didn\'t understand them either.
sean (2/4/2009 @ 5:25 am)
well , i have the whole series ( 60 episodes ) and some of them are connected but you have to watch all of them and it don\'t appears in orders either but like \" Ezekiel \" said these are \" slice of life \" style episodes so.. but i love it
Why rice? (3/10/2009 @ 9:53 pm)
So, apparently...ghosts eat rice over you while you sleep and shake wildly. It\'s called \"nodding off\" to some I guess \"shaking\" to me haha.

Ando (3/25/2009 @ 12:30 am)
Unlike Sean and Ezekiel, I don\'t think the structures of these films are designed to just relay a myth in a functional way, tho that might be a part of it. The abrupt endings also have a creppy, lingering effect, like nightmares where you always wake at the scariest moment
Ando (3/25/2009 @ 12:47 am)
I meant creepy not creppy. Obviously.
EdwardMay (4/8/2009 @ 11:28 pm)
These are short stories. Some are creepy \"my wife is back\" (suddenly the old lady sitting behind him). Some are bad (ghosts are eating rice on top of them?). Some are funny, like \"the bride\" she has male\'s voice, and what is that hobo doing in his daughter\'s bed lol. Over all I give 5/10
MayEdward (4/8/2009 @ 11:30 pm)
a couple are too short, a couple don\'t make sense, but others are quite good. they were enjoyable to watch with my wife, quite funny for most of them, slightly creepy and definitely funny at the same time making it an enjoyable ride.
the cliffhanger endings weren\'t all that bothering, the effect of it gives a thought provoking moment.
BLAA (5/2/2009 @ 1:55 pm)
LOL,stupid retarded ghost!!!!!!!!!
Jennie (5/22/2009 @ 5:34 pm)
\"Noose snap\" was pretty good! Hair pins was quite scary
uchaboo (5/26/2009 @ 7:28 am)
There were some short stories on here where it was too short and it could have been longer. Like the very first one where the girls go into the haunted house and they thought it was three of them but the other one died weeks before, that would have been great if it was longer. \"My wife\'s coming\" was funny..the old man deserved getting slapped. \"Hair pins\" and \"The Bride\" were both creepy. \"The noose snag\" one was okay; \"The last train\" one was another story too short. \"The tricycle\" one was creepy, too. The ones I didn\'t get were \"Nodding off\" and the three who were in the car and two decided to go in and came out after they saw themselves beating the third one to death. What was that about? If I had to score these short stories between 1-10, I would give this a 6.
took4granted (5/27/2009 @ 5:46 am)
man i got to say these were too awsome , bump the critics if u like horor u got to check these out
pinchpeople (5/27/2009 @ 11:40 am)
These were ok, but they were just SOOO random, I laughed alot at Red Eyes...extreme randomnessssss. I\'ll give it a 4/10, low marks, cuz of lack of elaboration. but I don\'t regret watching them.
slick (5/27/2009 @ 1:41 pm)
not bad, it would have been nice if they were a
little longer, but still, a good watch.
melhex (5/27/2009 @ 6:55 pm)

LouLou4u (7/12/2009 @ 6:58 am)
Just many of the stories just get going good and then it\'s over...4/1-
Ando (7/18/2009 @ 3:28 am)
They\'ve got a great technique of cutting the sound at the scariest moments. Thanks Sada, Ethen and co for uploading so many cool films
Aoi Neko (7/19/2009 @ 4:56 am)
OK, repeating a paragraph from the last page in case you got here without being clear as to what this is: These are a few segments of a series of shorts collectively called _Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro_ distributed by Tokyo Shock with an English title of _Tales of Terror From Tokyo and All Over Japan_ Each segment is about 5 minutes long, and supposedly based on some urban legend / campfire story, though I have my doubts about that. This made-for-TV series streches to 70-some-odd segments spanning across 4 DVDs plus a movie spinoff with another 30 or so segments. Each segment is completely independant of the others, not necessarily sharing any cast or crew, so the tone is naturally going to be uneven ranging from black comedy, to \"yell boo\" to creepy ambiguity. The quality will also obviously be uneven. The ones here are from the movie, and so are not included in the box set you\'ll see people referring to, but are on a different DVD sold separately.

I like some of the ones on this page quite a bit. Particuulary _Ghost House,_ _Last Train_, Unbroadcast Footage_ and _Tell Me_. Not terrifying by any means, but creepy and unsettling. Others, I think are kind of clumsy: _My Wife\'s Coming_, for example, or _The Red Eyes_ while the rest are simply mediocre.

Worth a watch.
jin-seong (8/5/2009 @ 7:28 am)
hahaha. . . the setting in the \"ghost house\" and \"tell me\" are the same, they used the same house
this one is good and somehow twisted anyway a worth-watch . . . includes:
-ghost house
-last train
-tell me
-my wife is coming
-red tricycle
-shadows sitting by their feet
-red eyes
-noose snap
-hair pins
-unbroadcast footage
-the bride

nice shorts... the headbanging girl in shadows at their feet is freaky as f@@k.. lol...wouldnt wanna wake up to that.
shankster (8/13/2009 @ 6:32 am)
Imagine waking up to the shadows at your bed..
Le Chat Étrange (8/15/2009 @ 4:18 pm)
I liked these :3. Some of them were kinda cliche-like but cool. I liked most of them because they remind me of classic ghost stories.
Worth of watching
geisha (8/21/2009 @ 8:19 am)
what happened to all the other short stories that used to be on this site , alot of the movies are gone too. I\'m particularly looking for the one with the mushroom lady and the one with a sea creature, I think named eddy. Please bring them all back
Kayakofan (8/29/2009 @ 4:23 am)
Tales of terror has some pretty good stories =).I dont even wanna imagine being home alone in a situation like that hehe.
spc hatcher aka ace (8/29/2009 @ 5:57 pm)
my second time watching and i still love it!!
Charky (9/2/2009 @ 10:00 pm)
\"Shadows sitting by their feet\" was fantastic, the acting of the leading girl I think was a little wooden (but it seemed kind of badly scripted, so maybe not her fault). I liked all of them I think :)
Hanako (9/4/2009 @ 11:01 pm)
OMFG!! I saw these on AZN Television when it was still on air! They freaked the crap outta me, cause I watched thme late at night, without the lights, down in my basement. DX Really good, &&; really scary in my opinion
asdf (9/13/2009 @ 2:22 am)
It stopped.
Haiti PI (9/27/2009 @ 9:03 am)
I believe that the Mushroom Lady that you are looking for is in the Anthology Series, PRAYER BEADS.
Field Marshal (9/27/2009 @ 11:56 pm)
What are these! Nonsense and chaos. Just waste of time.0/10
:O (10/4/2009 @ 10:16 am)
those ladies in black need to learn how to make rice
(10/7/2009 @ 1:54 pm)
ok the dramas helped to kill my time
dd (10/14/2009 @ 1:51 am)
I think that because many of these stories were made around eastern folklore and superstitions (the equivalent to our urban legends like Bloody Mary and the fish hook killer of Lover\'s Lane), us westerner\'s are left scratching our heads while Asians watch this stuff biting their nails.
Curious (10/26/2009 @ 6:41 am)
Out of curiosity does anybody have any idea where I can find out what urban legends these stories are based off of?
leonee23 (11/3/2009 @ 1:26 am)

Sam (12/18/2009 @ 7:25 am)
I love Japanese short horror films and these are a fine example. I thought the lack of explanation, resolution and happy endings was pretty obviously the main premise of the films. I don\'t think they\'re trying to tell a story as such, at least not in a typical Hollywood type of way, just giving us a glimpse of a fucked up, freaky occurrence with no padding or wrapping paper. It is what it is... SCARY.
I loved it!!!
guy (1/28/2010 @ 5:15 pm)
