This guy makes more movies than I can keep track of, he can end his films however he wants, at this point I think he's done it all lmao! Good movie, just didn't have much heart in it if you know what I mean, kinda' goes from one scene to the next without much emotion. On a side note: f@ck the cops.

I felt the same about lacking heart. It was solid acting, but I couldn't like the father or the mother or even the child. I was expecting me to cry, but was surprised not to feel any emotional impact.

I agree that this movie lacked some emotion. still a great movie.
I think what the problem for me was the selection of actors as opposed to the acting skll. im used to seeing Aikawa Sho in comedies. He can play these types of roles very well, but something about him in this didn't fit. His acting was SUPERB though, just didn't seem to jel.
The first half of the movie was incredible, the transition where the colour came back was pretty sick, remineds me of natsuo Kirino's grotesque. But after that the film felt like it lost impact, and Sho just semmed desperate. Was this was intentional? I wouldn't put it past Miike.
All in all an enjoyable movie, and another reason why i love miike's work. 6.5/10
