Oldboy (aka Hangul: , the phonetic transliteration of "old boy") is a 2003 South Korean film directed by Park Chan-wook. It is based on a Japanese manga of the same name written by Nobuaki Minegishi and Garon Tsuchiya. The movie follows the story of Dae-Su who is locked in a hotel room for 15 years without knowing his captor's motives.

When he is finally released, Dae Su finds himself still trapped in a web of conspiracy and strangeness. His own quest for vengeance becomes tied in with romance when he falls for an attractive sushi chef. .

I am not sure that my words can do this film justice. I personally do not consider this a horror movie per se. To me this is a very tragic drama/thriller. I do believe this should be seen by all.

this amazing movie has made a mark in its genre... the best korean movie ive seen so far.. truly some choices we make in life no matter how insignificant we think it is may or can have an enormous and life-changing impact to someone elses..

Damn I hate spoiler alerts, you might as well shove a drink in my face and say, \"Here, don\'t drink this!\". But it was still an excellent film despite knowing why he was locked up. LOL

Koreans know how to make movies. I have had a copy of the movie for a while but I wanted to day that this is one of the best movies I have ever seen. If you have seen Lady Vengeance, I suggest that you see that movie asap. Same director as Oldboy, same theme, but I have to say that I liked Lady Vengeance better although not by much. Both movies are in my top 5 all time movies,

I would say yes this movie does have mature scenes , pretty extreme violence and some sexual content.

Hey, I need some help!
I can\'t see the movie.
I can see it, but I can\'t go to the next part
because the player is hidden under this red band.
I can\'t scroll down on it or anything.
and Full screen doesn\'t work either.

Love love LOVE this movie! Too bad it\'s been taken off, but uh...steffanie? If you\'re a youngster who can\'t handle movies with somewhat of a mature theme (as most of the movies on this site are), the Disney Channel is always running 24/7.

hey, this is not horror... maybe suspense but not horror. anyway, the story is very well written. the japanese who created this was awesome, and i\'m glad that koreans gave it a justice. if i got a hundred thumbs, then i give it a hundred thumbs up.

I think that this is a great movie so if you guys wanna watch it here's a link for the full movie:http://www.megavideo.com/?v=PX5HQML0 it is from megavideo so your gonna have to use a trick I found out:

1.open 5 different tabs/windows of the movie then play the first window.
2.play and pause the remaining 4 windows, so when the time for the fist window expires you can continue watching the next part with no breaks.

The reason you have to open 5 tabs of the same movie is because of thes pattern:
1 tab = 54 minute wait
2 tabss = 37 minute wait
3 tabss = 20 minute wait
4 tabs = 3 minute wait
5 tabs = no wait

I forgot to add that you need to fastforward the 5th tab to somewhere around 72 minutes of the movie then pause because if you fast forward anything after the movie time expires then the player would not work.
