Hm... this movie is impossible to discribe. If you like a clear storyline then you will hate this. It starts of with one narrative, goes off into another, then suddely something completely different will start and you will be lost.

Some call this movie beautiful, some bizarre and to most it is just plain disgusting.
Basically, this movie is like a dream: sudden jumps from one dream sequence to the next, and most makes no sense at all. But it is beautiful in its own way. If you ignore the senseless gore.
And yes, it does remind me a bit of Dr. Moreau. But it\'s more like the nightmare you have after watching Dr. Moreau that makes no sense at all, except your on an island with this crazy doctor who turns animals into people.

wow, I heard about this movie but I had no idea it was going to be like that. ahah odd ^-^

As to what Karin said, It Does have a clear story line, you just fined things out as you go
The two different narrators do make sense.

Just make sure you keep in mined what happends early on in the movie. You should watch it without distractions.

Ohmigosh... What a _seriously_ screwed up movie. I really felt like I should just laugh at a lot of it & give up, but I dunno, there was this intensity about it or something. It\\\'s like some weird 60s psychadelic mind-trip thing, all shook up and ground out. Anyway, not really scary, but peculiar almost beyond belief. The guy playing the father, man that\\\'s a whack-job, he was superb, like a blend of Frank Zappa, Satan, and Pee Wee Herman. Man what an ugly, bitter bunch of story. I recommend it with the caution, expand your mind to its tippy-toes before entry onto this magic bus.

I have this movie, and watched it last night. Keeping in mind everything which happened, I couldn\'t quite pinpoint why it\'s still banned. It\'s a good movie, and compared to many movies which are out today in the hands of the viewers, this one seems less likely to cause homicidal tendencies in those who imitate movies.

But on another note, I was impressed with the plot and how twisted it was.
