Alexandra de Rossi is a good actress, way better than her big sister. We started watching the film but it\'s quite boring so we didn\'t continue. \'was a bit shocked 2 fnd out that there are ugly places in Singapore. ;-)

This movie was okay. It\'s recorded in a weird combo of Chinese/oddly spoken English, but it\'s pretty easy to follow. Had a few scary moments, but it mostly relies on the element of surprise for its scares.

I rented this film in 2007 at Blockbuster based on the cover praise \"Ju-On meets Sixth Sense.\" I was not disappointed. It is the creepiest film I have personally ever seen. I show it to as many family and friends as I can, and the girls always end up screaming for their lives. A lot of tension in the room... good times =)

I saw this ages ago, I kind of liked it back then... I\'d give it maybe 7.5 or 8 stars out of 10. Especially I liked all the creepy old tales! You should watch this alone in the middle of the night, If you want it to be creepier! ^^

I\'m from Singapore and there are scarrier things that happened when I was growing up. Some of the domestic maids from the Philipines, Indonesia and India do often mess with black magic and practice it when they get mad at the people they work for

it\'s a filipina woman with singaporean actors and actress. BICOL is a place in philippines where the myth of ASWANG or so called VAMPIRE in english is her hometown.

This is one of the best. What the cultural things based on such as the hell\'s door open on the 7th month of Chinese calendar for ghost is true. Or have to bury dead body before noon, or burning money (ghost money) for the ghost at the side of the road and do not sweep it.

Grandma (when she was alive) always told me to stay home after sundown during that time of year.

eh, it was okay. Not as good as everyone here made it seem to be. It did have some creepy parts.

I guess I\'ve seen better movies with better twists. I don\'t really think it was a twist. I had a better twist predicted in my head and it didn\'t live up to my expectations.

It was a pretty slow paced movie. Hardly any talking and no background music.

They do speak a lot of english and you don\'t have to read subtitles a lot (if they ever do talk).

uh.. it started out nice. good scary scenes, but it\'s like it had no plot. the scenes weren\'t seamless and they just jumped from one scene to the next. near the ending i was starting to think they made the characters so weak and fragile just so the other characters could hurt them =P lol horrible! feel sorry for alessandra, playing such a sucky role.

'The Maid' starts slowly, being American & unfamiliar with Chinese & Filipino Folklore & Superstitions, 'Hungry Ghosts' were a novel concept to me. I wish they could have edited the film to make it shorter, or made the dialogue better-the creepy bits were VERY eerie. And the twists were nice even though some of the plot was formulatic, I still enjoyed this film & would suggest it to anyone.
