KAIDAN

KAIDAN

Kaidan movie with english subs

Horror master Nakata Hideo, the director of Ring and Dark Water, goes back to the source with his first period horror Kaidan.

Based on a famous 19th-century story by Sanyutei Encho, this eerie and elegant Edo-period piece is stylistically a marked departure from his previous films, though every bit as chilling.Years ago, a debt collector was slain by a samurai. Before falling to his death, the debt collector placed a curse on the samurai who went on to kill his wife and himself........

Aww, this film is great. The horribly fated \'handsome son of a samurai\' tries his best to do the right thing by the frequent females falling for his boyish charms. I love it. This guy is haunted in the best way. A great ghost movie, beautifully shot in period Japan. Do I sense a hint on manga here or what.... Great stuff! 9/10

This film was OK. While it is visually stunning and well presented, it is a bit predictable, and has very few scares. It moves very slow in the beginning as well.

Where\'s the 2nd half? It only plays an add.

I watched this on YouTube a while back. Not exactly scary, but very very eerie. It\'s all about atmosphere.

Beautifully shot in Black & White in the Classic Japanese Style. A must watch for anyone interested in J-Horror (You will see the origin of many J-Horror Elements Here). Actually, if you are interested in any horror, or Japanese films in general, or even films in general, or Japan in general, I highly recommend this movie!

Haiti, did we see the same movie? Because the one I just saw was in full colour and filmed in 2007. I was expecting a 1960\'s movie in b&w for some reason...but this wasn\'t the one and it isn\'t in black & white.

It was pretty good though, but I wanted slap the shit out of that guy! Not exactly a horror, but definitely one of those \"there\'s a moral to this story\" tales. It was very pretty to look at, atmospheric and eerie, but very slow paced.

Megavideo cut me off at exactly 1:50:00 out of 1:59:00, which was odd since usually it\'s after 72 minutes or so...but fortunately I have a dynamic ip and by unplugging the router I was able to reconnect and watch the last 9 minutes without having to wait an hour. Which was good cuz it was 6:30 in the morning, way past my bedtime! So, disconnecting the router, not the modem, resets the ip address and you can continue watching on Megavideo as long as you\'re not on a static ip (which is never changing as opposed to a dynamic ip, which changes whenever you start your router).
:D
Anyway, it gets 4/5 spooky swamps
