The most Amazing movie.

I am so happy to see this here I have seen it before and I am going to watch again. This is a good movie not morbid scary but a mental type of scare.

A masterpiece of Korean cinema.Truly scary in the real sense of the word.

This movie was a piece of crap but this website is wonderful.

Sometimes, it\'s too easy to give abnormally high praise to films that have the word masterpiece or classic associated with them. The good news is that Hanyo (The Housemaid) is the real thing - the kind of rarity that fills the viewer with such astonishment that you talk about it years later. Truly superb!

No special effects? Damm I thought they were gonna add some computer enhanced creatures or something like they did in star wars. The film did say remastered. Or was it restored?

Definitely a great movie; It could be the first \"Fatal Attraction\", a movie intended as a warning to men about how awful their world can get via infidelity.
I did learn something from this film as well:

Korean cabinetry is pretty shoddy
Young Korean girls are hot for Teacher
Men are unable to push a small woman away if attacked. Good things to know, you must admit.

Over reduction of color has pretty much ruined the illusion of reality or immersion for this movie. I can just feel the editor pressing on the desaturated button throughout the movie...

Alfred Hitchcock style. Dark and intense storytelling. Exactly what i was hoping for when i asked for more classics. The struggles of human infidelity filmed at its finest. If you are looking for scares and gore then this is not the film for you. If you are looking for a psychological trip into the flawed human emotions then this film is worth the watch.

This movie is very ridiculous and when I was watching it I felt like I was in another world with totally different morals, social norms and atmosphere. I felt that this movie dragged on a small and common problem of men cheating. I would say dump his ass in the gutter and get on with your life, geez! I have no idea how I managed to sit through this weird movie. It left me wondering what to make of it. Frankly speaking I couldn\'t care less what men want or need. So this movie was boring for me.
BTW I should say this must be the first Korean film which didn\'t have insults flying all over the screen though. Refreshing movie.

What I meant was that everyone\'s name in the movie was not ASSHOLE. Lol!

@ gia, you\'re obviously insecure as hell about someone not liking a film that you like. Black & white does not make it a great film. The Seven Samurai [black & white] is a classic that I love. Don\'t assume you know my taste in films.

I think they made the movie black and white to show that humans are very black and white. The message in the movie is that all Man like young girls, its a bit too pedophilic for me.

I haven\'t watch the whole movie but i took a peek when i finished downloading it. It was restored and i think its dubbed. it still hjas good quality though. with black and white, everything is just cool.

Better than I thought it'd be. It was a little slow, but it was good. Like someone mentioned a bove, it's got a Hitchcock feel to it. I've never seen a 1960's Korean horror movie, so it was a change. It's definitely from todays Korean horrors.Just shows you how different morals and everything were different back then. I'd give it a 4/5.
