Gantz is a Japanese manga and anime series written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku.

Gantz tells the story of Kei Kurono and his friend Masaru Kato who die in a train accident and become part of a semi-posthumous "game" in which they and several other recently deceased people are forced to hunt down and kill aliens armed with a handful of futuristic items of equipment and weaponry.

I've watched the series before, and I even finished reading the continuation on Manga. It's definitely one of my favorite Animes of time!

Good series, has it's good moments horror-wise, but for the anime horror fans there's much better stuff out there so go look for it!

@church: that ending has nothing to do with the manga, the series is still on going and it's a million times better than the anime.

I have yet to see a more terrible anime. They "die" and are sent to a room where a bionic egg sends them on missions (which are not explained) which consist of the characters spending loads of time just running around and talking to themselves. This movie is total garbage.

Man I'm a huge anime fan, but I kinda thought this sucked. Just kinda mushy writing, some truly bad voice-acting, and so on. This whole thing should have been mashed into maybe 6-10 episodes. Glad to hear the manga is much better, that makes sense; I keep finding references to Gantz giving me the impression that something must be great about it. Not this anime, though, for me. Still, thanks for posting it, and I _did_ make it all the way through, so at least wondering what the heck is going on might keep you interested, if that's enough for you.
