very disturbing and also very weird they made a movie out of this havent watched the movie but I know the story and it breaks my heart everytime I think about it. we live in a sick worl with sick movies. id rather die then watch this till the end.

The story was so horrible and sad, I had to stop the movie and read it more before finishing.
The Movie is really disturbing and gruesome. I cried most of the movie. Actually I couldn't even watch most of it.I had to skip a few parts. Its really hard to watch them torture. Its scary to be a lady and see a lady raped and torture...You never think boys/guys/men can do such a thing...

Those guys would be facing death, one way or the other. Japan has the death penalty. If they got life, the boss would have them killed in prison. When someone is a part of an organization like Yakuza, nothing is done without clear permission from the boss.

People are too afraid to lose their lives to yakuza if they can't rat out and rescue a single abused woman with those kinda opportunities. When you're young you got more lifetime to lose and tend to be more scared I think, that why I can understand why the guys of the movie went along with the bad boys will. To an extent, I can understand why it happened. But there's not a single excuse to not save that woman when you see stuff like that happening. If you're a man at least.

I don't care if they are juveniles or adults but I do not understand Japanese laws sometimes. I live in Japan which is my home. I love Japan but I can't believe that they got such light sentences. 5-7 years? at the most 20 years? for all the heinous things they did to her, they should never have a chance to walk outside of those prison walls. I'm surprised they didn't receive death. Regardless, they didn't give that girl a chance to live so why do they deserve that right? I just broke down into tears close to the end of the movie when she was beat so bad beyond recognition, and my heart just broke for her. I can't believe they actually sat in the same room and thought nothing was wrong with the way she looked and how bad she was hurting. 41 days of her being tortured...i wish so bad that she could have made it. She deserved more than that and I reach out to the victim's family because I feel deep deep pain for what they did to her. This is something I will never forget. Juveniles get too light of sentences. If you know that you are doing wrong, then you are old enough to be judged and face up to the consequences of your actions and while you are in jail, try to rehabilitate yourself so you can have some sort of life but it definitely shouldn't be a life outside of the prison bars and they should not be able to walk as a free citizen as we all do because that would not be fair to the victim or the victim's family. You just put more people at risk. I'm just so sad that she had to go through it. I hope she rests in peace and God Bless her family.

Yeah, I can't watch this. It reminds me too much of An American Crime and that movie left a scar on my soul. This movie sounds very similar. That poor girl was in hell for 44 days and the perpetrators should still all be rotting in jail. Instead, every one of them is walking free right now. There is no justice for that girl and her family, imo.

It is unbelievable that something like this would happen to anyone at all and that anyone would even think of commiting such a heinous crime! Eventhough the movie didnt portrayed the full extend of what the victim went through but what was acted out was more than enough to give us viewers an idea of the living hell the girl went through in her 44days ordeal. Also, the light sentence handed out to her perpetrators only served to rub salt in the wound of the victim and her parents. On top of that, it is usually the perpetrators identities that are protected due to so-called human right issues and for their safety reason whilst full disclosure of the victim(sometimes unnecessary) are splashed across the news for all and sundry.

This story is too much for me. Because it is real and has happened I don't to watch it unless it's a documentary. I don't want to watch such a thing as entertainment.

Actually this was quite boring. The only scary part is that it actually happened. Compared to many of the torture movies out there this one fell short.

Wow.... this was much worse than I thought it would be.. I don't really wanna go on to read the news articles or anything, I'm afraid it'll say they got away with it or something and THAT would be the most disturbing part of the whole story.

Sooooo you guys can watch other totally gruesome movies where people are murdered/tortured but not this one because it's based on a true story? Oh please.The things you watch on here could and has probably happened to people elsewhere, you just don't know but you can't watch it because it'll hurt your poor little sensitive soul? You and your sensitive soul can go watch people's limbs being torn off and used as weapons then.

I am not saying don't be empathetic because this story hurts me to my core what happened to that poor poor girl but look at the things that you watch on this site. And this movie isn't for entertainment, @ Baka, it's an account of what's happened to her and to put her story out there.

AS A MOVIE, this sucked. It was slow and dragged on. Took forever to get to the point (and still never quite did, in my opinion). There were loose ties in the movie that never got resolved... So man holes... and it wandered too much. I had a clue as to what they where trying to do as a time line, but it was too choppy for me.

AS A "BASED ON A TRUE STORY" it disturbed the hell out of me! How do people have such little respect for others lives o the point where they could get to that?!? Very heartbreaking and emotion provoking film. If you are as sensitive to "based on a true story" films like I am (I didn't know that this was such a film going into watching it), PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!! This one caused me a lot of probs afterwords.

I found this film not satisfying. I watched it after reading about the true case this film based of. I felt really sorry for the fact that I didn't find the victim girl likeable. To be precise, I couldn't really care enough for her to despite the bastards the amount they deserve.

It's not that I liked them, but for me, the story has been dragging too long to build up much tension. I think that poor Junko deserved a film to her memory, but I wish that the film had been done better.

This is the case with an increasing number of movies on this site. Kansen (infection) part two, Reincarnation (Rinne) - in fact, just about every movie I have tried in two weeks. Comments are disabled on those other movies so people cannot even point this out. I appreciate the work people do to provide movies for free, but if the links dont work then its basically wasting both their time and mine.

@ bubbacas, sorry this is entirely true. It is a horrible thing to imagine that someone is capable of this. It is ultimate evil and all of those people involved in the torture and murder of Junko Furuta, deserve a Hell even worse than this. RIP Junko, you were an extremely strong person, who didn't deserve something as cruel as this.
