First off, this has nothing to do with The Eye series of films. What this film IS about, I can only say with any certainty, is a ghost & a dogboy. Other than that, I have no idea. For me, most definitely a WTF? sort of film.
Thanks for posting.

So where are the alternatve players???
pepsi (12/15/2010 @ 3:50 am)
The only thing scary in the movie was how anorexic the actresses looked. Only in Holocaust photos have I seen so skinny women. Their arms are not wider than a match stick, and the few flesh they have, is hanging down from malnutrition.
fox71 (12/16/2010 @ 12:07 am)
really bad movie. i bought the dvd last night. should have watched it here.

Another great Chinese/Thai Horror "Road Movie". Ever notice that many of the Pang Brother's movies involve traveling, often between their own 2 homelands, HK and Thailand?

Anyways, I was not disappointed with this one either. And for those of you criticizing the Rainee character for wanting to go see the riots, you might find when you travel that there are hundreds of other travelers who are very interested in seeing such historical events. I was privileged 20 years ago to see the protests in East Germany, also the democracy protests in HK back in 1987, and dozens of other such important events.

In the case of the Bangkok protests, I have family who were participating in those.

@ pepsi

Please be advised that people who suffered in Germany during the 2nd World War / Holocaust will not take your comparison to a few thin models and millions of emaciated concentration camp victims who suffered permanent damage to their internal organs (many died from these injuries) with as much humor as you intended. Comparing such minor things to the holocaust is done far too often and it is really quite offensive, to the millions of camp victims and to the German people who also suffered.

I am sure you did not mean to offend, but please be more careful in the future. Please!

i so much love shawn yue!!! pang brothers are really one of the best producers of chinese horror movies. thanks for the upload guys!^^
reaper118 (12/18/2010 @ 5:14 am)
not scary. but the idea of being stranded in the middle of a riot in a foreign country was a nightmare. The film is located in bangkok right but the creepy hotel was a chinese hotel? got me confused bcoz all the employees there seems to speak chinese.
e.pak (12/20/2010 @ 2:56 am)
the title of this movie shouldn't be called "the child's eye"..."the dog's eye" wouldd be a more appropriate name xD lol
kipg9n (12/20/2010 @ 2:43 pm)
this movie sucked!!!!dumb plot! Pangs have lost it. fans who have loved pangs' the eye, and followed their every movie wont b too happy with this one.
kipg9n (12/20/2010 @ 2:45 pm)
Minor spoiler

adding on: they r lost with ideas, so much so that they used same scare tactics (courtesy: the eye)
ppain (12/22/2010 @ 11:03 am)
Is there any way to know the name of the track at the intro, i find it great! :)
Korvis (12/23/2010 @ 10:21 am)
@haitipi: you think models dont have problems with their organs because of how skinny and malnourished they are? he wasnt comparing the treatment of holocaust victims, merely the physical state, which in some instances can be accurate. the biggest difference is that they willingly do this to themselves.
peter (12/26/2010 @ 9:49 pm)
@pepsi....the actresses most probably from hong kong....any way these gals (guys included!) do not eat much..all scare of getting FAT!

Annnnnnd now back to the movie reviews: This one is not the strongest of The Eye series. To start, the 3D aspect of it was a waste-things were thrown in just for affect but it really had little to no impact on the storyline. I felt like two people made this movie-maybe the Pang Bros. wrote separate parts to it because it was half good, half bad. The acting was good but direction not so much. Watching the actresses stare each other down for minutes at a time just about drove me crazy and the Pang Bro's penchant for having the protagonist close their eyes when danger is near also drives me up a wall. Would YOU take your eyes off something that could kill you? It is done just so that we can be "scared" by the jump factor when they open their eyes and the object of their fear is right in front of them. Been there, done that. Some of the dialogue was laughable, too, such as the line Rainie tells the ghost when the ghost is choking her. And the fact that everyone in the motel speaks Cantonese even though they are in Thailand. Details, details.

Now, for the good stuff: the motel the kids from HK stay at is creepy as hell. There are some scenes where you know a ghost is present but you can't see it and that is also done well. The ending leaves us confused but still in a good way, because they "got" me. I thought I saw it coming but I didn't. And that is what it's all about. :)

Tis movie is great!!! I like it... :)
Aswang (3/13/2011 @ 10:11 pm)
What an awesome movie. Well...for me anyways. Rainine kind of reminds me of Kim Chu a little bet. I thought the story was good and acting wasn't bad either. It's a definite "must watch".

This movie disappointed me. Very sad to see the Pang bros fail with this one. But I guess if your into creepy human dog hybrids then its worth a watch :P
