It looks like \'analysis\' needs some lol. \'Dark Angel\' didn\'t say anything dirty, she\'s just saying if you don\'t have anything nice to say then don\'t say anything at all.

Kiyoshi Kurosawa is a cult Director a bit like Stanley Kubrick or Andrei Tarkovsky.This Movie conveys apocalyptic imagery and themes of identity and isolation.I loved it.8/10

Movie was ok- was kinda blah but you cant say they did a bad job trying to make trees more interesting but it wasnt a good job either. Confusing as hell and quite uneventful in my opinion. 5/10 mostly for effort ^^

So, as was written over at IMDB......\'Westerners might assume that there\'s some deeper cultural context to the film, that maybe it speaks of some current events in Japan and/or invokes some well-known mythological or artistic references, but in director Kiyoshi Kurosawa\'s interview included on the DVD, it sounds like the film was simply precipitated by the emerging environmental movement in the late 1980s (he admits that the script is 10 years old), and that he later tried to graft some \"human drama\" onto it. Kurosawa adds that he\'s not quite sure what the film is about, and he\'s not sure if it works.\'

So there you have it....just sit back watch and enjoy and don\'t look too deeply for meaning. Sometimes it\'s better to just let the movie flow over you and not question every scene or peice of dialogue.

Drakrats, the film worked for me. It seems to be a play on asking the question \"What defines what lives and dies in our world?\" Of course, there is never any answer. Why would a criminal/murderer die at age 90, while an innocent child dies of cancer? \"Charisma\" might be symbolic of our will to live at the possible cost of other lives. If we are promoted at our job and someone who doesn\'t get the promotion commits suicide, are we not the same as \"Charisma\" even if we didn\'t purposefully cause that death? I say yes.
In the end, some live, some die, but the choice of our end seems undeterminable--perhaps only God knows the answer...

Im going to show this movie to the Tree Hugging Hippies!!!.. Maybe it will scare the f**k out of the Hippies and stop them from hugging trees all the time. Consider this conversation i overheard between a few trees when some hippies were having a tree hugging session.
