CELLO MOVIE

Cello is a 2005 South Korean horror film.Directed by Lee Woo-cheol Mi-ju's career as a musician and a teacher has stalled, a former student threatens revenge for a bad grade, an invitation to a concert reminds her of a friend's fatal car accident, there's a near accident on her drive home.

That night, a ghost visits her, and everyone in her household, including her dog, her sister-in-law, her husband, and their two daughters, is at risk. Over the next few days, the past takes on new importance. As people die horrid deaths, Mi-ju must discover where the evil resides.

I love this movie, especially the part where she kills the cello/daughter :D And now everytime I see a cello I think of THAT XD And when I tell that to my friends they think I\'m weird ^^; And the ending is so frustrating! It\'s just an endless cycle.

It isn\'t \"karma\", it\'s a vengeful ghost. Two very different things. Karma in theory is an equal but opposite return. The suffering a ghost inflicts upon someone as revenge could be greater than the suffering inflicted upon that ghost to begin the scenario, as you could argue it is in this film. Anyway, I don\'t believe in Karma or vengeful ghosts :D This was an enjoyable film. Certain aspects of it could have been better, for example the appearance of Tae-Yeon was a little bit hammer-horror for my liking - not subtle or disturbing enough. But generally I found it engaging, interesting and sinister. The twist is excellent. I also have a small crush on Mi-ju :)

To answer your question as to why she hid the youngest in the cellar... she finally had an idea of what was killing all of them and needed some time to think of a possible way to act against the ghost. As for the story in general? Very good movie. Enjoyed it so much that it made my first post here :P thank you very much to all of the contributors/admins of this site, u get 9000 Interwebs!

Very good movie! I really did enjoy this. Karma will eventually get you. It may not be now, but it will. And you are going to end up being screwed! There are no ifs, ands, or buts about that. The fact that she let her friend die because her friend had a little more talent is sad but, at the end, she got her nightmare while in a coma and another one when she was out of it. Like deja-vu all over again. It was sad, though, that her family had to be killed because of her decision years ago. Even the family dog! I recommend this movie to anyone willing to watch a good thriller.

but a very good movie. after watching so many movies from the index, it\'s hard to pick one out thats good and makes sense to watch.

my rating 8.5 / 10 (the only thing it lacks is an intense scaryness)

You know what all these Asian horror movies teach us?

Never be close friends with Asians, lol! Basically you see all these Asian girls and guys be friends with each other and always end up \"accidentially\" killing their friend or letting them die to get a spot in something and then getting fucked over in the end by vengeful spirits or other crazy people.

So in the end we learn that will will get killed by friend or by vengeful ghost/crazy person.

Lmao... now in reality, I\'m kidding because i have tons of amazing Asian friends and they are all truly kind... but these horror movies make them look like jerks.

However, great movie! ^^

The movie was okay. Not bad, not that great either. Can get confusing. So many loose ends for me. Example, the student out for revenge, the new housekeeper and the mentally ill child. It could have used those elements more.

So what was up with the student getting revenge for a bad grade? It\'s not even the student, it\'s the ghost of her best friend. Was that to throw us off? So is this supposed to be a never ending torture for what she did? Anyone explain a synopsis of this movie for better understanding?

Cyrene, as for your first question, I believe it\'s just a red herring. Second question, I assume so, but, we can never know for sure.

I have to agree with the vengeful ghost rather than Karma. It\'s common in Japanese folklore for vengeful/angry ghosts and spirits to lash out at anyone they can with boundless cruelty. For violation of a taboo, they\'ll inflict an endless hell for a crime that we may consider to be the smallest fraction of the punishment. Such ghosts may even kill innocent bystanders simply because they can, even to the point where the original \"criminal\" may get off without any punishment. Mi-Ju seems to be very unjustly punished. It\'s a great ending, but a sad one. I was happy just before the final twist, then I realized the ghost was NOT simply trying to teach her a lesson, but rather, the ghost was there to exact endless revenge for it\'s own satisfaction.

I liked the movie a lot. Its true that it didn\'t have so many scares but isn\'t the ghost\'s face scary enough? I\'d be having a hard time trying to get her face off my head :|
GOOD MOVIE. 8 stars out of 10. It has moments where you\'d rather sleep, but the ending was so original (i think) -- well done. Thanks for sharing this movie! :)

Eh, I dunno what everyone else is talking about. The movie was so-so. I give it a 2.5 outta 5.

Frankly, that ghost was a douche-bag for killing the kids--whether directly, or indirectly. If Miju had killed the other girls\' kids, it would\'ve been justified. But she didn\'t.

I know, I know, it\'s just a movie. Details like that always get to me.

For anyone that wants an explanation.....Im pretty sure shes been in a coma since her almost accident at the beginning of the movie so she prolly didnt REALLY kill her kids or husband.
A really messed up revenge making her kill her family over and over again.
I was wondering about the person whispering her name all the time, kinda makes sense if her husband was talking to her trying to wake her up.
Anywho.....I thought it was good, confusing thou.....
