...................this was the most poorly thought out asian horror i\'ve ever seen. \"why am i pretty\" that didn\'t have ANYTHING to do with the story. they should\'ve made it out like she was an abused woman herself who was never loved.

also. her neck was cut off. therefor the curse should be gone or whatever. that woman deserved to have her daughter back. some people might be like OH BUT CURSES NEVER DIE BLAH BLAH BLAH HORROR DOESN\'T HAVE A HAPPY ENDING. but if that were true this movie would have been good. some horror movies do have good endings, or at least decent ones that make more sense. shame on whoever wrote this. SHAME.

Whew... All that violence towards kids is just uncalled for, unfortunately the special effects are pretty good. Yah I\'d have to agree with all the criticisms above. This was so close to being a really good movie, if the writer and/or director had just watered down the disturbing nature a little bit & added some more detail & character development, and TOTALLY cleaned up that crappy ending. Well what happens to the main characters at the end is sorta your reward for rooting for them and yah I agree that was just wrong and lazy writing. That sort of thing was done much better in The Grudge, this just pissed me off, should have saved it for a sequel. Oh well, not a horrible movie, so much as just really needed a lot more thought put into it.

that movie was alright but kinda weak. the story and all the details needed to be thought out more. the story did not follow along with the story which was disappointing. and during all of this were did her body go? why was she wearing high heels? why is it when ever she takes over someones body shears just magically appear out of no where? the makeup and blood was good an all but the story just didn\'t do it. i personally was very disappointed :(

Not a very bad movie but I don understand why and how the slith woman got the disease of wanting to kill and beat up her children when she is alive.N how her son survive after killing her?And why she return to kill?The one who get tortured was not her but her children.And where is her husband when she is alive? How come she suffering from such crazy disease but can till give birth to 3 children?Actually the tortured children should be the one who returned to be sliths children.And where is her corpse whom head supposed to be cut? Aren\'t the police combed the whole house? And lastly how she when alive knows that her head must be cut off to stop the curse?It best if how and why she get the disease being explained in the movie

I really like the movie and the ending song. I was looking on YouTube on this movie and there was a trailer of the second movie of Carved. The trailer was uploaded on early March of 2008. I really hope seeing the movie when it\'s subbed.

Watashi no kirei means \"Am I pretty?\" I think they translated it as \"Aim for the neck\" to make it seem more sensical for the English speaking audience (to us, it would not make sense if he knew to aim for her neck had she not directly told him).

To explain the KIREI-thing.
It is like a word-play. \"Kirei\" means \"beautiful\", whereas \"kire\" which sounds about the same means \"cut\". So at first he can only hear parts of the whole sentence \"Watachi... kirei\" which sounds like \"Am I Beautiful?\". But then you hear \"watashi no kubi wo kire\" which means \"cut my throat\". So it\'s I\'d guess it\'s confusing for English-speaker since it doesn\'t sound anything alike in English. They should have added some kind of explanation note on that one I think.

i think you guys have got it all wrong, i don\'t think the description is a description as such. i reckon it\'s meant to be the \"legend\" that the people in the film had heard, hence \"legend holds..\" i think it was quite a nice touch to get the audience to feel more like they were part of the film..

There was no point of bringing back the slit faced bitch when her son already cut her head off. Too many plot holes, like why do the bodies which the S.F.B possessed disappear? whos that other S.F.B who was at the start of the film and the end (she has burned face)? Why she still haunting?

The ghost has told his son to aim at her throat and he remembered that and told the other teacher about it and for so many times they still aim somewhere else..... stupid !!!!!

The whole plot of the show is meaningless. They never explain why she do what she do when she is alive and why she is killing children when she is dead. How did the police or anyone not find the body of the mother who has been killed by her son? Where is the father? The movie left audience hanging in the air (in a bad way).

i enjoyed the movie, i understood just bout everything. she came back because she told him if he did not chop off her head then she would come back and kill, in the end he did not chop off her head he chopped off the head of the women she possesed, therefore it was not over n she would still kill, she probably hid her own body while possesing some1s mom, n to mas crazy or not long as u have healthy organs u can give birth theres lots of ppl who should not have children in thier care wit children of thier own. as well she mentioned herself that there was something wrong wit her mind and to chop off her head b4 the crazy pt of her takes over to her son or hed end up like his siblings, it probably was best to chop off her head bieng thats where the problem lies.

The storyline is pretty good, quite a good teaching for parents. However, the ending was bad, I didn\'t mean that tragic ending is bad, but at least it should be reasonable not like this cheesy crap that the evil ghost never dies.

It had some good elements and was clearly going somewhere, but I think the plot was just too weak to sustain itself. I found it disappointing, it could have been a lot better than this.

The translation made it not make any sense. She was saying \"watashi o kire\" which means \"cut me\" not \"watashi wa kirei?\" which is am I pretty. And the lack of context made people think she was saying the latter. Also, she apparently possesed other people. The real one was the \"black skin\" lady.

First of all this movie could have been so good...Imagine if it would have had some special effects, real fight/struggle scenes, more kids missing, more elaboration and detail...it could have been great but instead came out blah... Secondly why are so many people upset over the whole Am I pretty/Aim for the neck, thing? Surely you understand it was meant as a delibrate misunderstanding so that when it finally came to light we could be like \"ohhh\" and relish the mystery solved... Anyway I give the movie a 4/10..I won\'t call it a waste of time because \"of what could have been\" but there are better things to watch....Like Painted Skin (a personal favorite), Restless, Silk, or Somebody Looking Behind You...hell watch\'em all they are AWESOME ;)...

It was a good movie(: They changed a lot from the legend. In the description it says the husband cut her face, which is how the legend goes. She was beautiful and she knew it, the jealous husband thought she would cheat on him and BAM! Cuts her face ;D

Interesting movie, although I thought the most horrifying parts were the abuse scenes. I would have rather have seen the story with the original story of the slit mouthed woman being killed by her jealous husband. The woman was creepy, yet pretty at the same time. Lol. :P
