Oh the wonderful Insanity of this Movie.I like asian Ghost stories Better , but Just as Pure entertainment this Movie rocks 8/10 .

not bad movie, ending is a bit wierd. whats with the whole fake betrayal act by kawada if the systems been hacked meaning collars are dead so the mics are to, and assuming the systems were back up and collars are working again, since the army was dispatched and \"operation complete\" was announced. wouldnt they have noticed that kawada didnt really kill those 2 and that the 3 of them are approaching the school on the radar? did i miss something cause this totally contradicts

Amazing-this was insanely wonderful. Masterful, intelligent and thoughtful. Makes you wonder what you would do if thrust into a situation such as that. I think I\'d have a hard time with premeditated murder but self-defense would be different. Anyone else want to comment on how they would handle themselves?

When Kawada san fake-betrayed the two kids, he did that in order to get the army out of the island and end the game without leaving trace of the survivors leaving him as the only survivor. But they killed the teacher and so the reason for the Battle Royale II movie

A bit too much unrequited teenage puppy love and sanctimonious self-sacrificing for my stomach to take. Although Battle Royale is a good movie, it tends to be quite repetitive scene for scene - a setup, trap or pursuer, then someone or many die. This first installment of BR doesn\'t seem to take itself seriously enough, and I find myself laughing at so many parts and scenes where it should not be humorous, though it is. I think an edit of the crotch stabbing scene should be in order...that\'s really over the top and I find it offensive. The ending is wholly predictable, but also satisfying, such a sad little game - Battle Royale.

The ending is a bit weird though, so what now? They have to live as street kids because of the constant threat of being taken to the island again?? Or is it just representing the fact that they\'ve learned to grow up and fight to live?

This is one of my all time favourites! I got both on dvd, although the second one isn\'t as good!

Typically I don\'t go for this type of film, I prefer the ghosts and curses. Based on the comments I decided to give it a try. What a great film. The timing of the soundtrack is phenomenal, and the acting is great. Even though most of the ensemble cast had small parts, I actually felt for a lot of them. Unlike other movies where I didn\'t give a rip about many of the characters, there were many here that I wish would have made it. Watch this one.

interesting story. good film. i liked it. it was 330 am when i started watching this film n now its 550 am. still awake n n havent gone to the bathroom during the movie. in other words imy eyes stayed glued to the screen. i\'m watching this through a big screen tv plugged to my ps3. i love this site n thank you for making it free. i hope you dont change the player. the format is perfect for the ps3 software.

one of my faves. one of the bloodiests ive seen. nice plot, the whole twisted idea of the game (makes u wonder what its like if u were in it). i loved the character developments (that some other movies lacked). i love kawada, he\'s my favorite character. i love the ending song too: Shizukana Hibi no Kaidan Wo (The stair steps of a quiet day) by Dragon Ash.

this movie is a great, but i mostly like the manga and the novel.
to bad cause they change some of the sinces from the manga. like mitsuko did\'nt kill kotohiki and kotohiki did\'nt kill sugimura.
they been killed by who else kiriyama.....

and mimura die first after mitsuko

I love it! It was really sad though. Can\'t believe it\'s Light! Hate that guy, but Nanahara is cute anyway. Whats with people and watching kids killing each other? This is like the 10000th story with that scenario in it. I hope people would never actually do it. It\'s sick.

Excellent! You simply cannot know about this website and not watch this film. Tatsuya Fujiwara (perhaps better known now as Light of Death Note live action) stars as Nanahara Shuya. Based upon a controversial Japanese novel, Battle Royale tells of a corrupt society that has resorted to some pretty messed-up methods to try and keep rebellous youths under control.

Of course, the film goes no where into the detail of the novel or even the manga. Despite the absense of depth the original story brings, this film is a must-see and (if you\'re like me) a must-have for your home DVD collection.

One of the best movies on this website.

Great movie, but I like the novel better. Especially Kazuo Kiriyama and Mitsuko Souma are real characters with great backgrounds in the novel - though I understand that a movie doesn\'t have the time to put in every page of a book. They really made a good movie, but everyone who liked the movie should also give the novel a try.

Very well-made movie! Wow. More of a futuristic action movie than a horror. Saw elements of Escape From New York, 1984,Falling Down even.
Anyone who says this movie is sick simply can\'t handle the extremes of Japanese cinema and should stick to US movies.

I\'m sure I wasn\'t the only one who thought this, but knowing me, I might have been. XD The crazy transfer guy, don\'t remember his name, but he sorta looked like Reno from Final Fantasy. All I kept thinking was, OMG With read hair, he could be his twin!!!

this is the movie that made me turn away from western media. great plot, the actors were awesome, and it really captures human nature in fight-or-flight situations.

and even though i wouldn\'t call it a horror movie, i still get a little scared every time i watch it and i think what people would turn to in a life or death situation. more than once i found myself asking whether i would actually kill my best friends to survive and knowing that, if it ever really came down to them or me, i probably would. that really did scare me.

holy crap! one of the best films i've seen in a long time!
though there were too many characters, i had trouble keeping track of the less memorable ones. speaking of memorable, OMFG at the krazy antagonist with blind bleeding eyes in the end!
and i loled at the scene with the loner guy dying in the water and his crush feeling guilty and saying what she was supposed to do now, then megumi shows up and just says 'DIE' and kills her and the sappy love music just ends right there. EPIC

kept me up past my bedtime. I really enjoyed the movie, a nice change. A little long.

I am a HUGE Battle Royale fan, I'm constatly reading the book, manga, listening to both soundtracks, while watching both movies while of cause weaing my collar all at the same time. I love both movies but the first is my favoite. I'm so in love with Kazuo Kiriyama, Shinji Mimura and Hiroki Sugimura but Kazuo will always be #1.

Lame. The plot is too simple and childish. a mere killing spree. But I like the humor when the ending nears where the shot teacher who received a dozen of bullets from a 100 per minute burst shot Uzi and stood up like nothing happened, just to answer the phone.
