it's based on the japanese crime-mystery novel which won the naoki literary prize
(the hunter by asa nonami).
and with genius song kang-ho
it can't be bad.

So long and a bit slow at times but not bad. So freakin depressing at the end but what do you think would happen?

I was actually disappointed with this movie, especially since anything with Song Kang-ho in it is usually good as gold. For starters, all the male cops were misogynistic pigs, treating the female detective like dirt. Then Song's character eventually respects her on her merits, like that's never been done before. The premise could have been original if it weren't so far-fetched; the ending was completely unrealistic in its execution. And why do Korean cops only carry guns sometimes? When it suits the director, there were no handguns so the cops could get their asses beat, but when it was needed to further the story line, guns suddenly appeared. And why did the female cop have zero defensive skills? You'd think a cop or detective would have been taught self defense-that's what the academy is for. All in all, this does not measure up to the usual great fare that crime thrillers usually exhibit in S.Korean cinema. This movie doesn't even come close.

Good movie...but the ending made me cry. Hate bad things happening to animals...

thanks for the upload/access - I have to agree with LFrog as this film was different but for me became laughable when it was apparent there would be NO supernatural resolution to this...I was expecting a werewolf type flick and it was...well NOT that at all. Apart from the grisly scenes in places, the subject matter, the cultural sexism and Lee Na-young as gorgeous eye candy there was nothing really in this flick to recommend
