DESCRIPTION

Aokigahara , also known as the Sea of Trees , is a forest that lies at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. It has been claimed by local residents and visitors that the woods are host to a great amount of paranormal phenomena. It is an old ancient forest reportedly haunted by many urban historical legends of strange beasts, monsters, ghosts, and goblins, which add to its serious and sinister reputation.

Below is the video of the actual research for a Swedish documentary about Aokigahara Jukai, a forest near Mt Fuji in Japan. The forest is famous for being a place where people choose to commit suicide.

The people that commit suicide here are said to be influenced by the suicide manual a book describing ways to commit suicide , here is the link to watch this movie about the book SUICIDE MANUAL

Something else I'd like to add.
The feeling that the footage of the remains of the suicide victims was not one of "creepy" or "frightening". Rather, my overwelming emotional response was one of pity & sadness for the victims, their families, & friends. The suffering left behind, especially for parents, is unbearable. The chain of karma thus created complicates the suicide's problem further.
What makes it doubly tragic for me, as a Buddhist, is that I know that suicides are reborn in uncomfortable circumstances that will compell them to greatly value their lives.
If we get depressed, hopeless, or contemplate suicide, that's a message from your higher self to go & talk to someone. I know. This subject is very close to home.
Everyone stay safe.

Well said, plop888. While I find the subject disturbing, it is also tragically sad how many people take their lives every year in the mistaken belief that nothing will ever get better. I implore anyone that feels this way to get help. It can get better.
